Which is more effective - online or traditional marketing and advertising?

Statistics indicate that online marketing and advertising is outperforming traditional media such as as mail, print, TV and radio. It makes total sense. Why wait for the radio to play your favorite song when you can hear it instantly online? Why wait for tomorrow's paper or the ten o'clock news when you can have it delivered real-time with RSS feeds.

In this industry things change at an extremely fast pace. By the time you print something your competition could have already come out with a superior product and have it online on their website within seconds. Compare that to snail mail. How many clients are you losing currently due to old strategies? However, print, radio and TV still work and are even more effective when combined with your company website.

The "computer generation" wants information fast, and lots of it, to make an informed buying decision. Something a one page printed flyer cannot show us and may be outdated by the time it's in the hands of a consumer.
